Henry R. Bautista, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2025, just one day shy of his 72nd birthday. Born in Sonora, TX, on July 30, 1953, Henry was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew him. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully in San Angelo, TX, surrounded by the love of his family.
Henry was the beloved husband of Carmen Bautista and the core of a large, loving family that includes his daughter Carrie Bautista Mijares, married to Charlie, and his son Henry David Bautista; his grandchildren Sophia, Alaina, David, partner Victoria, Esme Rodriguez, Amy Rodriguez, married to Adrian, Alexia, Avanni and Jessica Espinosa; great-grandchildren Joseph, Leo, Lina, Adrian, Adara, and Josh; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved.
He was predeceased by his father Placido G. Bautista and his beloved mother Dora R. Bautista; siblings Dolores Cantu, Placido "Jr" Bautista, and David Bautista. He is survived by his brother Tino R. Bautista and his wife Beatrice, his sisters Elaine Martinez, and Cynthia B. Alvarado and her husband Ben. His sisters-in-law, Rosemary Bautista and Rosa Bautista, also share in the family's loss.
Henry was a proud graduate of Central High School and dedicated many years of service to the City of San Angelo. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his faith. As a steadfast Christian, Henry lived a life exemplified by grace, generosity, and a deep love for his Savior.
Those who knew Henry will remember him for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed sunsets while fishing at Galveston beach or local lakes. His camping trips, barbecues for family, and nights spent Tejano dancing are cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. Henry was a man who could fix anything, a trait that earned him the affectionate title of being incredibly handy.
Henry's loving nature, thoughtfulness, and ability to bring joy and laughter to any situation are the hallmarks of his character. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
As we say goodbye to Henry, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a faith well-kept. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends, and his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Henry's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the unshakable foundation of family and faith. We take solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace in the eternal embrace of our Lord.
The Bautista family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Henry's life will be honored and commemorated in a service that reflects his devotion to his faith and the values he held dear. As we gather to remember Henry, we will share stories, laughter, and tears, celebrating the man who touched our lives in countless ways.
