Equilla *Bo* Ross, 89 was born September 5, 1933 the eight child of eleven children to the union of Otto Ross Sr. and Lannie *Alexander* Ross, in Sherrill Arkansas. Equilla attended school in Tucker, Arkansas and graduated in 1951 from Tucker High School. Equilla moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1952 with hopes of better opportunities. He enlisted in the United States Army in October 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. While in service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean War Service Ribbon and the United Nations Service Medal. After his active duty discharge he transferred to the Army National Guard where he served until June 1977. He was employed by General Motors at Leeds from 1969 through 1990. In retirement, he was employed by Daniel*s Security Service. Equilla accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Prince Of Peace MBC and Community Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ) both in Kansas City, MO, where he served faithfully as Deacon,Youth Leader and Food Pantry Volunteer. Equilla United in marriage to Friedel (Mason) Clay in 1990. He was blessed with two children, daughter, LaVetta Ross-Hall and son, Terry Clay. Ross enjoyed music, especially old school Gospel Quartets, gardening and large gatherings with family. On October 27, 2022 Equilla transitioned from life to eternity. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brother; James Ross and sisters; Rosie Green, Addie Ross, Veola Ross, Maple Smith, SarahRoss, Yuonita Sims, Queen Esther Kindred and Bernice Milligan.
Equilla leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 32 years, Friedle Clay-Ross of the home, daughter Rev. LaVetta Ross-Hall of Ewing NJ, son Terry (Demetria) Clay Sr. of Blue Springs, MO; three granddaughters, Maya S. Hall of Chicago IL, Damika Clay of Blue Springs, MO, and McKaya Hall of Ewing, NJ; two grandsons Myles Hall of New Melle, MO and Terry Clay Jr. of Blue Springs, MO. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
