Mr. Cline was born January 31, 1970 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Tony Cline and Judy Dianne Almond. Eric has spent his 52 years on earth as a Jack of all Trades. From the very young age of two, he was already analyzing and reconstructing various toys. When he got older it was apparent, he had many versatile talents of being able to rebuild tractors, lawnmowers, cars, and chainsaws. He began employment in construction at the age of 14. He worked for Bills Drywall and various other companies, where he became superintendent for many years. He had a lifelong passion for mechanics and worked as a DMV inspector for Brothers Tires; where he thoroughly enjoyed, not only exploring different types of cars, but getting to spend memorable moments with his coworkers and customers making lifelong friends. He was a visionary and if he couldn't find the right part to fix something, he could create anything imaginable from scratch to make things work again.
Eric daily offered to lend a helping hand to anyone he encountered. He would give you anything he had if he thought it could help you in some way. He loved spending time with people and could turn any 5-minute visit into an hour's long conversation with his comical personality and unique knowledge. One of his happier moments in life was being able to teach his son Wesley the various skills and techniques on how to use tools and machinery.
He loved fulfilling his time in the summer with gardening. Excitedly awaiting to share his cucumbers, squash, potatoes, and his all-time favorite, a color variety of tomatoes with everyone. An avid animal lover especially of cats (his lady love butters), turtles, and dogs (Moody). If he wasn't building them doghouses, or fences, he was making them homemade shavings to enjoy staying warm in the winter.
Every week he loved watching historical shows like PBS (Wood Wrights Shop), Nova (space shuttles, boats), and preaching (Charles Stanley). He had a lifelong dream of building a spaceship and would continuously be inspired through his favorite shows of Wonder Woman and Star Trek. He also loved many kinds of music; his favorite song was "Faithfully" by Journey.
He enjoyed cooking homemade soups, grilling hamburgers, and he especially looked forward to eating the homemade biscuits his mom made throughout the week during their breakfast. Walking through nature and finding unique objects was also something he was enthusiastic about. One of his interest included flashlight and battery collecting, he was always prepared for any situation!
Since his passing on the 10th, we have learned that Eric was a hidden Journalist who avidly loved writing about his day and thanking God and Jesus, for all the things he enjoyed in his life. He wrote July 8th, 2021 "Rain last night and till lunch today. Thank GOD my garden will love it. Thanks Jesus Christ Lord please look after me and keep me safe at home. Thanks GOD, love E.V.C."
His Surviving family members include his mother Dianne Almond, his father Tony Ray Cline (wife Eva), his older sister Lisa Reinhardt "pickle" (husband Aaron) and their children.
