Full Name: Eric Dranoff
Date of Death: Tuesday, April 4, 2023
We are devastated to announce the loss of Eric Dranoff, life-long resident of Rockland County,
New York, who passed away on April 4, 2023, at the age of 63 after a short battle with
pancreatic cancer. Eric is survived by his loving wife Debra (Debbie) and his four favorite
children Milicent (Mark Feier), Eddie, Harrison and Charles, his brother Kevin (Deborah) and an
incalculable number of friends, who he considered his family.
Eric graduated cum laude from both Albany law school in 1984 and American University in
1981, where he met the love of his life Debbie and began their journey together. He practiced
as an attorney for almost forty years, first as an associate at Bower & Gardner, and then as a
founding partner at Saretsky Katz & Dranoff, LLP. He was a litigator, specializing in insurance
coverage, employment law and the defense of municipalities. He sincerely valued all of the
many clients he worked with throughout the years across New York State.
Eric used his professional expertise to benefit many organizations and people, and was
particularly proud of his fifteen years with the Rockland Community College Foundation, where
he served as Chairman of the Board and was beloved by students and faculty alike. He was a
real man of the community, serving as Chair of the Industrial Development Agency of Rockland
in addition to various board memberships at the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, the
Rockland Economic Assistance Agency, the Rockland Economic Development Corporation, and
the Rockland Business Association.
Even with his busy schedule, he never missed any of his children's sports games or music
concerts. Eric was quite the musician himself, drumming since he was eight years old and
flexing his musical ability in ensembles from rock bands to Mediterranean drum circles. The best
part of Eric was his big heart and his true concern for others. He loved life, being with his
friends, eating good food, traveling, watching sunsets, but what he loved most was being with
his family, who meant the absolute world to him.
He was loved and respected by so many, and will be missed beyond words.
Donations can be made in his memory to, www.letswinpc.org or

The funeral will take place on Monday April 10th at 10am at Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair
Lawn, NJ with burial following the service at Cedar Park/Beth El Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.

On this solemn day, as we mark the one-year anniversary of our dear Eric´s passing, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. Losing someone as amazingly remarkable as Eric leaves an indelible void in our hearts.
To his devoted and loving wife, Debbie, and his terrific children, Milicent, Eddie, Harrison and Charles, I want you to know that your husband and father was not just an exceptional leader but also a caring, inspirational, kind, hardworking, intelligent and compassionate soul. His legacy lives on through the many lives that he touched, the wisdom he imparted, and the kindness he showed to each of us.
As we remember Eric today, let us find solace in the cherished memories we shared with him. May his blessed memory and spirit continue to guide and inspire us and may you all find strength in the love and support of those around you.

With my deepest sympathy,

Debbie Marcantano

Our deepest condolences to Debbie and the entire Dranoff family. Although our friendship was a short one, we loved Eric as a wonderful neighbor and friend. We are thankful for the beautiful memories we have of spending time together on Longboat Key. Eric was such a fun, kind and caring human, and he will certainly be missed. We pray that God will heal your hurting hearts and comfort you during this difficult time.
Much Love,
Mark and Debbie Marcantano

I am heartsick to learn of Eric's passing. Although we never met in person, we worked together over the years as he represented educational institutions insured by my employer, United Educators. Eric was professional, smart, practical and efficient as defense counsel and a really nice guy to boot. He will be missed. My condolences to his wife, children and family, of whom he would speak frequently and fondly.
