Son Eric Wayne Florence, age 48, and father Ronald George Florence, age 83, both of Basehor, KS passed into eternity on June 1 and June 2.
Eric was born June 29, 1975 in Wichita, KS. Eric was a loving father. Eric attended Muncie Christian School, Sinai and Bonner Springs High School. Eric was in the tattoo business for many years while living in Arizona and also had experience with the screen-printing business. Eric enjoyed traveling the country on his beloved motorcycle. He lived in Oklahoma and Arizona for several years. His children were his greatest pride. Eric had friends everywhere he went. Eric is survived by his four children Caleb of Cameron, MO; Dillen, Ian and Ben all of Lawrence, KS.
Ronald was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a good neighbor but most important a member of God's family and has graduated to his eternal and heavenly home. Ronald was united in marriage to Donna Pollock on October 9, 1964. Ronald was born July 27, 1940 to George and Mildred (Kemler) Florence. He attended Basehor schools and graduated from Basehor High School in 1958. Ronald retired from Roberts Dairy in 2004. He loved to watch the car races on TV and enjoyed going to Lakeside Race Track. He especially loved to go to car shows to see the old cars. The Florence family has lived in Basehor, KS for several generation and is very well respected. Ronald better known as Rusty was a Basehorite from birth through death. Even the years he lived away; his heart's desire was to move back to Basehor. He and Donna did return to Basehor in 2002. Ronald was proceeded in death by his parents George and Mildred Florence and is survived by his wife of 59 years Donna of the home, his son Dustin also of the home. His brother Wayne and his sister-in-law Glenna of Basehor, KS; four grandchildren Caleb, Dillen, Ian and Ben.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Calvary Bible Church in Bonner Springs KS or Olathe Hospice in Ronald's memory. And to the family for a memorial fund for Eric's children.
The family would like to say a big thank you to the Phoenix home care and hospice.
The Funeral and Memorial services will start with a Visitation from 9 to 11 am, and Funeral at 11 am, both on Monday, June 17th at the Calvary Bible Church in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in Glenwood Cemetery

Man I didn't know his dad died to. I was given several tattoos by Eric he became a friend to me an my kids. He was a great friend an very sorry for ur loss

Everyone needs an Eric. Non conventional and loyal until you betrayed it. If you were lucky to be a friend you were given a gift. His huge heart and love for those who accepted him in his authentic self, made him someone you could count on no matter what. He was always there for me. I hope he has found peace and the grace he always looked for even in his chaos. If you´re ever lucky to have an Eric in your life love them unconditional and remember what a gift they are. I hope we get a perfect sunset....
