Eric "Sonny" Johnson

EDGERTON – Eric "Sonny" D. Johnson passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2023, at the age of 52. Eric was born on July 22, 1970, in Edgerton, to Roger and Linda (O'Kane) Johnson.
Eric graduated from Edgerton High School in 1988 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (USMC). After discharging from the USMC, Eric received his CDL and started his lifelong career of truck driving. Eric held numerous trucking jobs over the years with his favorite being his current job at Jon Halverson Trucking in Edgerton, Wisconsin.
Eric was known for his love of muscle cars and motorcycles. He especially loved his 1965 Chevy Impala and his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed road trips and going to the drag races with his friends and Dad. In his free time, Eric could be found working on vehicles with his dad or helping out at the family business, Oberg's Bar. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, including having family dinners and spoiling his nieces.
Eric is survived by his parents, Roger and Linda Johnson; sister, Brenda (Jeff) Mortensen; cousin (although more like brother) Nick (Wendy Hertel) Johnson; nieces, Paige and Abby Lowell; and family puppy, Lili. Eric was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Ellis and Lillian Johnson, maternal grandparents Kenneth and Kathryn O'Kane, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at Albrecht Funeral Homes in Edgerton, 1004 South Main Street, Edgerton, at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Oberg's Bar, 348 Liguori Rd. Edgerton, WI 53534.
