Obituary of Eric R. Johnson
Eric Johnson was a beloved son, brother, family member and friend to many. He left this world on August 29, 2023 after a long courageous battle with serious medical issues. He exhibited so much strength in handling these concerns until the end.
He was born to John Johnson and Pamela Crocetta on October 29, 1971 in Silver Springs, Maryland. He grew up in Gloversville, NY and graduated from Gloversville High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a Military Police Officer in Operation Desert Storm.
He is survived by his daughter Emma Miller-Johnson, his parents John Johnson (Linda), and Pamela Crocetta (Joseph), as well as his siblings Brian Johnson (Elizabeth), Megan Boles (Joshua), Jarrod Johnson, Abigail Johnson, and Reagan Johnson, and his best buddy, Trout. He is also survived by many loving extended family members of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Eric was a skilled carpenter for many years in the local 291 Union. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, tying flies, and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved Emma and spending time with her, they enjoyed fishing and golfing together. He was a loyal fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and the Baltimore Orioles.
Eric was an active and eager player in the local semi-pro football leagues of the Gloversville Colonials and the Amsterdam Zephyrs, playing quarterback and/or receiver along with his teammates that many he still considered friends to this day.
Private interment with Military Honors will take place at the convenience of the family at Gerald. B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to American Diabetes Association or to the local humane society, James Brennen.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz Rossi Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, Gloversville.
