Marilyn Ault Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose & Hughes Funeral Home on Feb. 20, 2026.
Marilyn T. Ault, 77, of Hagaman, NY passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Born on October 4, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Piccola Fusella.

A lifelong area resident, Marilyn graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch Highschool in 1966. She worked hard all of her life in several different capacities. For over 30 years she was the office manager of Brandl Electric. Marilyn also served as the Volunteer Coordinator for Community Hospice for many years. Lastly, she worked as a legal assistant with The Salmon Law Firm until her retirement.

Dedicated to her community, she volunteered at the Edward L. Wilkinson Nursing Facility and was a member of the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, The Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and at the Horace J. Inman Senior Center. She loved to craft and taught many classes in crafting and the timeless art of stained glass.

Marilyn also took great pride in owning The Hagaman Grammer School. Built in 1907, it closed its doors in 1955. In 1957 her companion, Frank Brandl purchased the building and in 1977 converted the building to apartments. In 2019, the building was registered on the NYS Historic Registry.

Marilyn will be remembered for her kindness and the love she shared with her friends and family. She loved living on the Farm with Frank. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping and enjoying life to the fullest with her beloved great niece, Jessica Gahr and her husband Dave, whom she adored.

She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Frank; and her two siblings, Roberta Cartier and Raymond Hampson.

Survivors include her brother, Michael Fusella; her dear friend, Dave VanDeusen; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Interment will take place in the family plot at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, and because Marilyn loved animals, please consider donating to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204, where her Beloved Indy was adopted from.
