Eric M. (Martin) Kamm of rural Abilene passed away at his home on June 8, 2025. Eric was born on August 12, 1979, Abilene, to Dwight R. and Marion [Blomberg] Kamm. His older brother, Nathan, was so happy to welcome him.
Eric grew up in the rural Abilene community. He attended Rural Center, then Chapman Middle and High school. He enjoyed his friends, playing foot ball and 4-H. His rabbit hobby started during 4-Hand he raising fantastic French Lop rabbits with which he gained national recognition in the Lop Rabbit Club of America.. He developed a love for farming, a passion for hunting and fishing – he loved sharing his game and tales with family and friends; and motorcycling. He also had a very talented artistic side. His sculptures made from discarded farm parts are phenomenal.
Eric was a loving and caring son, brother and uncle to Devin. He was cherished by all who knew him; greatly loved him his parents, brother and niece, Uncle and friends.
Eric is survived by his parents: Dwight R. and Marion Kamm, Brother Nathan, niece, Devin, his Uncle, Art Blomberg, Boulder, CO; cousins, and friends. Eric was preceeded in death by his maternal grandmother/father, Arthur W and Harriet W. Blomberg, Grandfather/step-grandmother, Roy W. and Elinor Kamm and Aunt Nancy Blomberg.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 28 at New Basel Church, 1075 1100 Ave, Abilene, KS 67410.
Memorials may be made to New Basel Church or sent to the family [1199 Hawk RD, Abilene, KS] for the American Heart Association - Kids Heart Challenge. These will be designated in Eric's name when this Rural Center event occurs in February 2026.
