Eric Julian Knox was born on March 26, 1981, alongside his identical twin brother, Derrick, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
to Debbra Yvonne Knox and Bertram Whitted. Eric departed this life on February 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandparents
Hezekiah and Ollie Mae Knox.
Eric was a graduate of Woodland Hills High School in 1999 and later he graduated from Penn State University in 2004 with honors in mathematics
After his graduation, he immediately was offered and accepted a position with Thermal Industries. He remained there for 19 years advancing multiple
times throughout his tenure with the company, He was a lifelong learner, which allowed him to become the head of the Human Resources Department.
Eric thought he would retire from Thermal Industries. However, just as so many other companies did not survive through the global pandemic of Covid-19,
Thermal was one that also went out of business. For the first time in 20 years, Eric had to reposition himself. This repositioning didn't last long because, within
a few short months, he was again recruited an advanced yet once again in his career because of the tremendous value that Eric brought to everywhere and
to everyone he was blessed to be part of!
Eric was recruited by the other Home Federal Bank of Pittsburgh where he worked until his untimely death. Eric was a tremendous asset in his position
of Payroll and Benefits Analyst. He loved his career and his co-workers. He was truly happy with his position, making sure that all employees' benefits and other non-work benefits and
retirement plans were in place for their future.
Eric was truly a gentle giant, one with a heart of pure gold and contagious authentic joy. To know Eric was to know love and kindness. This was ever so present in the love that he had for
those he affectionately described as "his boys" -- his two nephews, Zyon and Tyre. Eric loved him some Zyon and Tyre, as they affectionately called him "Uncle E!"
Eric is survived by his mother, Debbra Yvonne Knox; his father, Bertram Whitted; two brothers: Shawn Knox and Derrick Knox; one sister; Krystle Knox; one sister-in-law, Saloam; five
nephews: Daymon, Shawn Jr, Derrick Jr, Tyre, and Zyon; five nieces: Santorria, Shawnte, Shaynia, Nicole, and Elizabeth; two uncles: Larry and Robert Knox; cousins: Debra and Patricia; as
well as a host of other cousins and friends too numerous to list.
