Eric Nelson Obituary
Eric Donald Nelson, 86 of Sumatra, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, in Panama City. Donald was born February 13, 1938, in Andalusia, Alabama to the late Eric and Myrtle Nelson. He was a commercial fisherman and was an avid outdoorsman. He always had a story to tell and would always take the time to play a good joke or two. He was a longtime member and deacon at Highland Park Community Church.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Ann, in 2021; a daughter, Connie Lemieux; his brother, Silas Nelson and a sister, Inez Clark.
Survivors include his son, Eric Daniel Nelson and his wife Autumn, his daughter, Rachel Lyn Bledsoe and her husband Den; a sister, Letitia Nelson; his grandchildren, Trevor Nelson, Karisa Nelson, Patricia Garrett, Thomas Lemieux, Erick Bledsoe and Daniel Bledsoe as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Services to honor Donald’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Sumatra Assembly of God with Reverend Jessica Gay and Reverend Mitchel Lemieux officiating. There will be a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Sumatra Cemetery.
