Bowman Funeral Directors - Garden CityIt is with deep sorrow and abiding love, we announce the passing of Eric Edward Phillips, age 51, of Emmett, Idaho, who passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026, following a long and courageous journey with early-onset Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Eric was born on May 20, 1974, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Edward and Pamela Phillips. He spent his early childhood there before the passing of his father led his family to relocate to Elgin, Oregon. Eric attended Elgin Middle School and Elgin High School and later pursued coursework at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.
Eric lived life as a true free spirit, with a deep appreciation for the outdoors, history, and drag racing. The greatest joy of his life, however, was time spent with family and friends, particularly sharing meaningful moments with Keegan and his friends, which kept him young at heart. He will be remembered for his warm laughter, playful teasing, and constant readiness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A gifted welder fabricator for more than 25 years, Eric’s creativity and craftsmanship reflected both his remarkable skill and his artistic soul.
In 2002, Eric met Mandie Edgar on a blind date that was meant to be nothing more than a casual evening. Instead, it marked the beginning of a loving partnership that spanned over 22 years. Married in 2004, they shared a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep, abiding love.
In 2008, Eric and Mandie welcomed their son, Keegan, whose arrival forever changed their hearts. Being Keegan’s father was the greatest joy of Eric’s life, and Keegan remained the center of his world.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ernest Phillips; his mother, Pamela Jean Butler; and his chosen brother, John Lilly.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Mandie Phillips; his cherished son, Keegan Phillips; his in-laws, David and Frankie Edgar, and their large extended family; his brother, Mark Phillips; his sister, Shannon Phillips; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who will carry his memory forward with love.
Eric will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle humor, creative hands, and the deep love he had for his family. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held, 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at New Life Christian Center, 212 S. Boise Ave., Emmett, Idaho 83617.
