Gloria D. Phillips, 93 of Sterling passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7 at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Spencer Green officiating. Inurnment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Gloria was born April 22, 1932, in Sterling, Colorado to Reuben and Phoebe Annie (Royce) Ogley. She graduated from Sterling High School.
Gloria married the love of her life, Tyson Phillips, on April 22, 1951, in Sterling, Colorado. They spent 74 years together. In the late 1960’s they bought a farm and ranch west of Sterling and made it their home until they retired in 1984. While on the farm Gloria enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, and selling eggs. After retirement, they moved to Sterling and built a new home. Gloria also enjoyed playing cards and getting together with all her friends. She also spent many hours sewing and crocheting and giving her finished projects to family and friends. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and cherished every minute she got to spend with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ty Phillips; her parents; and brothers and sisters.
Gloria is survived by her son Rick Phillips and his wife Rhonda of Casper, Wyoming; grandchildren Cary (Tina) Phillips of Circle, Montana, Rikki (Jake) France of McHenry, Maryland, and Treyson (Elizabeth) Phillips of Andrews, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; and nephew and special caregivers Chuck and Lois Ogley; and several other nieces and nephews.
A sincere thank you to the staff at Harmony Home for the years of dedicated care given to Ty and Gloria.
