It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Eric Wesley Swartzentruber, 53, of Wooster Ohio on January 6th, 2026 while surrounded by the love of his cherished family and best friend.

Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the love, prayers and support we have received during his courageous battle. Eric approached cancer like so many things in his life with an unrelenting will to succeed. He will be forever remembered by his closest circle for his intelligence, kindness, compassion, and unique sense of humor. He was an entrepreneur who tirelessly developed several successful businesses over his lifetime.

Eric graduated from Wooster High School in 1991 after proudly captaining the Wooster Lacrosse team to its very first state championship. He went on to graduate from Ohio Wesleyan University where he also played lacrosse and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. After college Eric married Nancy (Wellman) on October 23, 1998 in Las Vegas Nevada. Over 27 amazing years of marriage he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His passions included Motorcycles, Playing Competitive Darts, Firearms, Amazing Fireworks Displays, Vintage Cars and all things lacrosse. He led the Wooster Lacrosse club with passion for several years where he shared his true love for the game with so many including his son Ean.

Remaining to cherish Eric is his wife Nancy; children Ashley (Jimmy) Thompson, Cass (Joey) Russell and Ean (Grace Edwards) Swartzentruber; grandchildren Brady, Zoey and Harper and his best friend Travis Brewster.

Calling Hours will be held at Murray Funeral Home in Creston Ohio on Saturday, January 10th from 1-5 p.m. with private family interment to follow. The Family also wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to Crossroads Hospice for their compassion, support and the comfort they provided to our family and most. importantly to Eric.
