Eric Wayne Taylor, age 45, of Dyer passed away from this life on June 2, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Eric was born in Jackson, TN to Ronnie and Margaret Taylor, on August 17, 1977. He graduated from Gibson County High School and was a lifelong resident of Gibson County. He worked at Gerdau in Jackson, TN for almost 10 years as a non-ferrous operator.
Eric loved and devoted his life to his family and was dedicated to being the best husband, father, “Pop Pop,” and son he could be. He had the most infectious smile and loved with his whole heart. Eric was a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide and Boston Red Sox fan, and he also loved spending time at the lake with family and friends. He was always the life of the party and loved to make those around him smile.
Eric is survived by his loving wife, Tracy (Griggs) Taylor; two children, Axle Metzger (Peyton) and Briana Taylor (Alex Arnold); parents, Ronnie and Margaret Taylor; grandchildren, Jax Taylor Metzger, Emerson Arnold, and Beau David Metzger; and loving nephews and nieces. Eric is proceeded in death by his brother, David Taylor; grandparents James Macey (JM) and Permilia Thompson; and grandparents, Fred and Maxie Taylor.
Pallbearers are Chase Horner, Nick Taylor, Ed Burns, Alex Arnold, Michael Sullenger, and Tim Young. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Thompson, Mark Thompson, and the Gerdau work family.
Funeral services for Eric will be conducted on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 5PM in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dewayne Goodgine and Doug Duncan officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2PM-5PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Dyer chapel. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Eric Wayne Taylor.
