Funeral services for Michael Glenn Walters, age 67, will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 27,2025 with visitation from 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday and 10 AM until service time on Friday at Shelton Hunt Funeral Home in Humboldt with James Ellington officiating. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Gibson.
Mike passed away at home on Monday, June 23,2025 surrounded by his family after a brief illness.
Mike was born in Humboldt TN to Jerry Thomas Walters and Betty Hinson Walters. He graduated from Gibson High School in Gibson TN. He spent 46 years with the box factory in Humboldt now known at Smurfit Westrock where he served various roles in operations with his last role as plant scheduler.
Mike has been married to his wife, Rosemary, for over 46 years and during the course of his lifetime they have enjoyed camping, boating, riding horses, riding motorcycles, and spending time with their children, grandchildren and friends. Mike enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and most of all coon hunting. When asked what made him happy, he would reply "my girls." He was a very devoted family man.
He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Thomas Walters.
Mr. Walters is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Shaver Walters; two daughters, Geri Vanessa Moore (Jeremy) and Shelly Sharp (Justin); and three grandchildren, Cole Moore, Addie Moore, and Sawyer Sharp. He also leaves behind his mother, Betty Walters and three brothers, Jeff, Travis, and Steve.
He was known for his numerous acts of kindness and big heart, but he also did many selfless acts without expecting anything in return.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, St Jude, or Autism Speaks.
