Bruce Dornea Skinner was born June 15, 1964, in Trenton, TN, to the late Verdell Marie Gadlen Skinner Fisher and Irvin Wayne Skinner. Bruce was raised in Dyer, TN, where he spent most of his life.
He passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Milan General Hospital.
Bruce accepted Christ at an early age and joined the church under the leadership of Pastor A. D. Whittmore at Cloras Chapel Church, Dyer TN. Mr. Skinner graduated from Gibson County High School.
Bruce worked as a production worker at various companies, and he also worked car detailing at Wrights Auto Sales in Dyer, TN, for many years until they closed. Bruce enjoyed being outside grilling, fishing, and hitting the block in his Buick LeSabre. Bruce had many nicknames "Brucie Deucie" which his mom called him, and his closest friends and family knew him as "Killer Groove."
Bruce was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He leaves to cherish his memories his two children Adrian Skinner and Britteny Skinner both of Dyer, TN; ten grandchildren Adriana Skinner, Amarion Skinner, Za`Kadrian Skinner, Za`Kaysia Skinner, Austin Skinner, Kinslee Skinner, Journi Skinner, Lakiyah Wilson, Brooklyn Finch, and Ariyana Finch; four sisters Sue Dell Mayfield of Marietta, GA, Lois Fay McNelley of Lansing, MI, Brenda (Fred) Harris of Jackson, TN, and Sheryl (Timothy ) Gillispie of Jackson, TN; two brothers Lawrence Douglas ( Elizabeth ) Skinner of Dyer, TN and Michael T. Skinner of Jackson, TN. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Verdell Marie Gadlen Skinner Fisher and Irvin Wayne Skinner. Two sisters, Martha Ann Skinner and Doris Jean Bradford; two brothers, Vincent Fisher and Hollis Wayne Skinner; one niece, Melanie Marie Skinner; and one nephew, Clay Dewayne Mayfield Sr.
