Eric William Thomas

Cumberland, MD- Eric William Thomas, 56, of Cumberland, MD, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at his home.
Born April 26,1968 in Cumberland, MD, Eric was the son of Sandra Kay Thomas and the late James William "Jim" Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his aunt: Linda Louise Miller and husband, Ray Miller; his aunt: Susan M. Hornick; his grandparents: Harold James "Mike" Robinson and Jessie Lue (Coffman) Robinson; and Leonard Wayne Thomas and Mabel Margaret (Kelly) Thomas; and a special friend: Maxine.
Eric was a Graduate of Fort Hill High School and Allegany County Vo-tech in Electrical maintenance, Class of 1986. He then graduated from Gateway Technical Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, with a degree in HVAC. He was a skilled HVAC mechanic working for many businesses in the area and was always up for a challenge. Eric loved history with extensive knowledge of the Civil War and both World wars. He also was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. Eric enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved watching western movies with his dad.
Besides his mother, Eric is survived by his three sons: Brent Thomas, Chad Thomas, and Seth Thomas; the mother of his children: Dawn Thomas; his brother: James Michael "Jimmy" Thomas and wife, June Thomas; their sons: Ryan Thomas, Corey Thomas and wife, Ashely Thomas, and their daughter: Estelle "Stella" Thomas; his cousins: Tory Miller, and her children: Hayden Morton and Haylee Morton; Lisa (Miller) Keffer and husband, Ted Keffer, and daughter: Madison and husband Brad; Michael Miller and wife Shannon Miller, and their children; and Michael Hornick; and his Uncle: James "Mickey" Robinson and wife Rhonda. Eric is also survived by his longtime friends: Chuck Baker, David Keller, and Ron Mease and daughter, Hanna Mease, who were always there for him.
