Eric Thomas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Millennium Cremation Service - Vero Beach on Dec. 31, 2025.
Eric Scott Thomas, 61, passed away on December 29, 2025 from natural causes.

Eric was born August 18, 1964, in Niagara Falls, New York to William and Nancy (nee' Bias) Thomas.

He attended West High School in Bakersfield, California. After finishing high school he went into property management successfully managing properties in Laguna Beach, California, Las Vegas, Nevada and Ocean City, New Jersey among others before settling back to his hometown area of Western New York in Lockport, New York.

After a lifelong career in property management and the snow filled winters of New York, he longed for warmth and sunshine and retired to sunny Vero Beach, Florida in April of 2017.

Eric loved playing with gadgets and electronics. He was always trying to fix something or build something out of something else. Everyone has their favorite story. Mine was finally getting my first turn-table stereo (at the ripe age of 10 years old) and letting him take it apart to power my Barbie Townhouse elevator. Mom's was him taking the motor out of little Paul's "kid car" to motor the kiddie pool into a soap suds sauna. One could always hear, "Eric Scott, put that back…" As a parent, you didn't know whether to be furious or proud. Most recently, I even remember during one of our video calls, his living room looked like a scene out of Studio 54, after all, some of my most favorite times with him were going to the World's Largest Disco and dancing the night away.

To know Eric was to know a kind and loving soul. He will be terribly missed. I will always wish I had one more chance to hear his laugh, to see his smile, to embrace his hug.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Roosevelt Thomas and his mother, Nancy Lynn Vosburg (Bias).

Those that remain to cherish his memories are his stepmother, Linda Louise Thomas; sister, Jennifer Robin Gruber; stepbrother Alex Martin Baxter; stepbrother, Paul Eugene Baxter; aunts and uncles, Lynn and Patty (Huddleston) Cooper, Gary and Ann Coker, Stan and Nancy Wilson, Bob and Jean Gatewood, Judy and Al Thompson, Bill and Veeta Ewan and many cousins; and friends he made throughout his journey.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Millennium Cremation Service of Vero Beach. Friends that would like to share fond stories of Eric or leave condolences for his family may sign an online guestbook at www.millenniumcremationservice.com.
