It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Eric Andrew Watkins Sr. (55) He passed away on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024.
Eric was born on May 2nd, 1968, in Covington, LA. He was the youngest of 4 children. At a young age Eric was intrigued by cars and the mechanics of taking things apart. He would go on later in life to a trade school and receive his Mechanic Technician Certification. During his time going to school, Eric worked with his father and his uncles, laying brick, doing carpentry work, and building houses. Eric was a master of many trades, and a hard worker. He also held a job at Paul's Auto Sales of Picayune from the age of 14 up until his passing. He also went on to receive his certification as an Electrician, this he was extremely proud of. He was a hard working and determined soul. No one and nothing could stop him if he was, "On A Roll". He dedicated his life to providing for his family. Eric was a loving father of two children, and a loving grandfather to his two grand daughters.
He is reunited with his parents, Huey Lionel Watkins and Rebecca Diane Watkins, with his older brothers, Greg Watkins and Larry Watkins. and his aunt Annie Laurie Watkins Smith. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Tonya Jean Kutz Watkins, His Children, Victoria Antoinette Watkins and Eric Andrew Watkins II, His Grandchildren, Lauran Elizabeth Hinman and Rubie Rebekah Kennedy, His Mother in Law, Shirley Kutz, His Sister, Debbie Watkins, His Nephew, Joshua Robin, His Neice, Brandy Pittare, His Great Neices, Star and Saylor Pittare, His Uncle, Clifton Douglas Smith , and special mention for His closest friends, David & Lisa Wise, Howard "Bubba" Decuir, Laurence "Bubba" Calascione, His "Favorite Neighborette" Ms. Kathy Burr, and His Mentor, Ms. Opal Merrill. The Memorial Service is Planned to take place on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 @ 7pm. at The First Pentecostal Church of Picayune. 123 Kendrick Lane, Picayune MS 39466.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
