With heavy hearts, we share that Erica Renea Clark, 47, Foley, Alabama, passed away on September 2, 2025.
Born on August 15, 1978, in Danville, North Carolina, to David Clark and the late Fredwinna Clark.
Erica grew into a woman whose life was defined by service, laughter, and love. She proudly served six years in the United States Navy as an E3 Electrical Technician, before leaving the military in 2006 to continue her education. She went on to earn her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2013 from Rockingham Community College, her Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Science from Guilford College in 2015, and most recently, her Master's Degree in Criminal Justice in 2022 from Southern New Hampshire. Erica's pursuit of knowledge reflected her determination, resilience, and passion for making a difference.
Beyond her professional and academic achievements, Erica wore many hats- dedicated worker, tireless volunteer, FEMA responder during times of crisis- but her greatest roles were mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Erica leaves behind her three daughters, Brooklyn Hendricks, Anna Peyregne, and Lilli Peyregne; and seven grandchildren who were her pride and joy- Dante, Mitchell, Arya, Christopher, Lilah, Rayah, and Nancy. She was the godmother to Amara Hinsey and Andie Hendricks. She is also survived by her father, David Clark. She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved mother, Fredwinna Clark, and her brother, Jesse Clark.
Those who knew Erica will remember her as funny, brave, selfless, and endlessly supportive. She had a way of making people feel cared for, whether she was crafting something by hand, singing along with you at a concert, taking photos to capture memories, or simply cheering at a baseball or football game. Erica was always the first to show up when someone needed help and the last to leave when the work was done.
A memorial to celebrate Erica's life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1pm to 3pm at Lulu's, 200 E 25th Ave, Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Erica's light touched so many lives, and though she has gone far too soon, her spirit of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her.
