Erica Marie (Wade) Cole, 25, of Franklin, Indiana died tragically at 8:20 pm on August 10, 2025 as a passenger in a car driven extremely recklessly on I65 North just south of Indianapolis. Born on December 20, 1999, in Belize City, Belize C. A., Erica was welcomed into the family on April 18, 2006, as the sweet daughter of Jay Francis and Dana Larae Cole and became a citizen of the United States.
Erica graduated from Anderson High School in 2019. Her spirited personality as a cheerleader made you smile. She loved performing in show choir, dancing and singing for Elegance and Infusion. After graduating from high school she became a certified life guard and nursing assistant. She was employed by Otterbein Senior Living in Franklin, IN. Her coworkers and chaplain described Erica as being very caring and nurturing towards the residents and their families. She had a servant's heart. Erica was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Anderson, IN. It is evident that she was growing her faith in the lord by reading the bible and posts of scripture.
Erica loved spending time with family and enjoying nature and had dreams of traveling. Erica is survived by her parents, Jay and Dana Cole, Alexandria, IN; her beloved, life long brother Samuel (Wade) Cole (Kalani), Muncie, IN; brothers Aaron Cole, Eastvale, CA, Patrick Cole (Vindhya), San Jose, CA; Nikolas (Julia) Evans, Columbus, GA; Taylor (Sierra) Evans, Battle Ground, WA; grandmother Nancy Reel, Warsaw, IN; and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. Erica was preceded in death by grandfathers Francis Cole and Gary Reel, but unfortunately never met her grandmother, Maxine Cole and grandfather, Donald Folkner.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the Christ Lutheran Church at 2751 Scatterfield Road, Anderson, Indiana 46012.
A funeral service will follow visitation on Saturday at 4:00pm at the church with Rev. John Jameson officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel has been entrusted to services for Erica.
