Erlinda Marie Ortiz

Erlinda "Linda" Marie Ortiz, 80 of Sugar Grove, Il passed away Thursday October 9, 2025. She was born June 25, 1945 in San Antonio, Tx, the daughter of Gabriel and Guadalupe (Trujillo) Valdez. Linda was a God-fearing woman who always put God first in life. She was proud to serve as a Chaplain. She was a giving soul who would do anything to help others in need, no matter what the need she would do whatever she could to help. Anyone who asked Linda for prayers she would pray for and was often known to initiate prayer chains. She was a very caring and loveable woman that often helped without even being asked. Linda loved spending time talking to her family and made daily calls to connect to her loved ones .

She is survived by three daughters, Lynn Mata of Sheridan, Carolina (Christopher) Atkinson, and Mary (Jenaro) Mondragon of Plano Il; one step daughter, Daisy Mae Ortiz; Loving grandmother of Jessie Ruben (Katherine) Pineda of IA, Jessica Lynn Pineda of Earlville, Arturo (Megan) Flores II of Sugar Grove, Justin Piceno of Sheridan, Justine (Adam) Haws of Plano, Joleanna Atkinson of Somonauk, Erin Ashley (Krzysztof) Szwebel of South Elgin, Logan Atkinson of Plano, Elizabeth (Nicholous) Atkinson- Rossaert of Plano, Kristena Kaufman of Plano, Karina Mondragon of Aurora, Sebastian Mondragon, Lilianna Mondragon of Plano; 17 great grandchildren; Kaylin, Heiress, Kyrie, Calypso, Lola, Ryker, Grady, Camille, Rosalina, Aimsley, Christopher, Alexander, James, Miles, Ellen, Myla, Arturo III; Four brothers Joe Valdez, Roy Valdez, Paul Valdez, and Gregory Valdez all of IL; and three sisters Sylvia V. Neumann of IN, RoseMary V. Johnson of MO, Lisa V. Deemer of IN; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings Randy Lee, Laurie Ann, Ernest, Jeramiah, and Gabriel Valdez.

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
