Erma Rae Evans (Erma Rae) graduated from mortality on Monday, June 30, 2025, in North Salt Lake, Davis County, Utah, where she lived since 1992. The fifth of seven children, Erma Rae was born to Heber Dean Hall and Edna King on November 7, 1931, in Garland, Box Elder County, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ila Nelson (Sister), Lurel Hall (Brother), Theron Hall (Brother), and Merrill Hall (Brother). She is survived by Louise Hall (Sister) and Joseph Hall (Brother) and all her children.

Erma Rae married Kenneth Thornock in 1949. Together they had 5 children: Clark Thornock (Diane) – Taylorsville, Utah; Ken/Dean Thornock (Sharon) – Mission, Texas; Bruce Thornock (Angelica) – Puebla, Mexico; Paul Thornock (Bonnie) – Elma, Washington; and Gayle Weston (Gary) - Shelton, Washington. They divorced in 1963. She married Russell C. Evans in 1964. Together they had 2 children: Calista Anderson – Crosby, Texas, and Roy Evans (Linda Sue) – Olympia, Washington. She is the grandmother of 23 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Erma Rae started her life in Utah (Garland, Bothwell and West Tremonton), then lived in Idaho (Emmett, Letha, Middleton, Horseshoe Bend, Ola and Boise), then Shelton, Washington, in the Puget Sound area and finally in North Salt Lake, Utah, where she lived since 1992. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life. She had a testimony of Jesus Christ and loved to serve in His Church. Some of her callings included: Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother, Primary Teacher, Councilor in both Ward and Stake Primary Presidencies, Ward Primary President, Homemaking Leader several times, Ward and Stake Relief Society Councilor, Ward and Stake Relief Society President and a visiting teacher/minister for many years. She loved the temple and regularly spent time there to worship and to serve when her health permitted.

On behalf of our family, we wish to thank the many friends and neighbors who have given much of themselves, their kindness and support to our mother since she moved to North Salt Lake from Washington State in 1992. Thank you for your love and friendship, especially during the past few years as Mom suffered numerous heart problems and various other illnesses.

Funeral Services and Viewing will be held at the North Salt Lake Parkway Stake Center, 55 East 350 North, North Salt Lake, Utah 84054. The Viewing will be on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Church and will broadcast over Zoom: Meeting: 99989452466 Passcode: 628280

Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah 84010. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
