Hey, Ernie! Mike Potter here. I recently received word that God needed your help more than many here in Earth. Though iur oath was brief I truly enjoyed our journey. Our conversations on government issues, healthcare, wellness, your broken ankle, just to name a few always brought insight and a laugh.
I'll miss our special conversations and you contagious smile and warming hug.

I hadn't been to the doctor in awhile due to finances but he was my physician. I just found out. It breaks my heart. He was so very kind and loving. I could not have asked for a better doctor. I will miss him.

Dr. Ernie has been my family's doctor for approximately 10 years. I will miss him dearly as he was such a great doctor and always treated me as though I was a family member each visit. His waiting room was always full and it was because there were many folks waiting to see the Big E! I will miss you and I wish you a safe journey.

Dr. Ernie was a great doctor with a great big heart and the persistence to get a hold of specialists if I couldn't when working for him. He was kind-hearted, taking whatever time necessary with his patient at the time, thorough, and extremely giving of himself. I have never had a doctor, let alone worked with one, or in this case three, that so loved the profession they chose and in helping others. What saints! His wife and two daughters were so loved, and just to listen and watch him with his two sisters was awesome. The love in that family was so obvious. I will truly miss my Dr. Ernie. God bless the Agresti family. Be seeing ya, Dr. Ernie.

Sending my most heartfelt condolences and love and prayers to Dr. Ernie's wife, and daughters, and sisters, and extended family. Dr. Ernie was simply an extraordinary human being. He was a caring man with a giant heart, and I am heartbroken to have lost not only my Doctor of the last 12 years, but also one of my most cherished friends. I am so thankful for each second I got to spend with Dr. Ernie. I truly considered him to be a family member. He went so far above and beyond anything he ever was required to do as my Doctor, and I will never forget any of his kindnesses. I know that the lessons he taught live on in all of us, and that he is watching over all of us now. This loss is enormous, and I send prayers of strength for his family! Love, Mary-Ann McMahon

Drs. Tina and Linda: Marsha and I also just read Dr. Ernie's obituary in this morning's newspaper. I already miss our conversations about politics.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Dr. Ernie Agresti. I have been a patient of Dr. Tina's for well over 20 years. I felt led by the Lord to share a story about Dr. Ernie with his family. He truly was an amazing man and one of the very few that I have ever met - that shined the Lord Jesus Christ to others. I mean, to show up and to be so present to someone in their suffering. It is a true gift of God to be able to do this. In August of 2014, my father called me from Minnesota (which is where he lived and where I grew up) and told me that he had cancer and that it was pretty bad. He was 82 years old. On that call, my dad decided to move him and my mother to California. He wanted my mom here for me to care for, in case something happened to him. This would mean finding a new home, new doctors, new oncologists ... well, a new everything. Within three weeks, we had my parent's moved and settled in California. The same day my dad got off the airplane, he had an appointment set up with Dr. Ernie. When my dad walked into the appointment with Dr. Ernie - God was in the middle of that room. He was shining through Dr. Ernie's heart of love and compassion for my dad. There were even tears on both sides. Dr. Ernie spent over two hours with my dad - listening, talking about his medical history, the cancer results and then he did an EKG on my father right there on the spot. He stayed late that night to be with him. He also ran some other tests that none of his doctors did in Minnesota. Dr. Ernie was shocked that so many things had been missed from my dad's doctor in Minnesota. A doctor my dad had for over 50 years. While doing the EKG in the office, Dr. Ernie found a very bad irregular heart beat. So, Dr. Ernie sent my dad over to the hospital to be admitted immediately. My dad was not on any heart medication and he should have been for some time. For the next three weeks - my father began the process of dying. First needing to stabilize his heart with medications, then needing a colostomy bag for a severely blocked colon due to the cancer that was all over his body, to then moving into heart failure after the pressure of the surgery on his heart (which was a surgical risk my dad wanted to take) and then eventually going onto hospice. All along - my dad was content and ready to go home to be with the Lord - saying he was looking forward to meeting his maker face to face. I am sobbing as I write this because of this powerful truth - God chose Dr. Ernie and Dr. Travis Gerlach (his surgeon for the colostomy bag) to be the two doctors to birth my father into eternal life. Think of it - we have doctors that bring us into the world and God knew that He wanted two believers in Christ ... yes, two spirit-led, loving, pastoral, kind, compassionate ... one's that were willing to embrace and to be present in suffering of someone else - to be the ones to usher my father into His eternal resting place. I am overwhelmed with love - thinking of how loving and wonderful our Father God is. Dr. Ernie showed my father more presence of heart, of time, of love, of compassion and of simple decency in my father's last few weeks here on earth - than his physician of over 50 years in Minnesota. What an incredible testimony of Dr. Ernie's life - truly a man of God - who lived to love people well. I wish I had known him more. He touched the lives of our family in a way that will never be forgotten. He taught us what it means to love in the midst of suffering. What a legacy he leaves with his family, friends and all who know him. Dr. Tina and family - the Dethlefs' family loves you, appreciated you and our prayers are with you all in your sorrow and loss. Much love in Jesus.

My sincerest and heartfelt sympathy to the Agresti Family and the Sierra Rose staff. Dr. Ernie was a AMAZING man, physician, and friend. It was such an honor to work with him for several years. Dr. Ernie had a contagious smile, great laugh (especially when you get him to crack up) and the biggest heart in the world. Several times I had seen Dr. Ernie give money to patients in need or to a child that was in the office. It was the sweetest gesture to witness. Dr. Ernie was truly one of a kind and the most genuine person you could ever encounter. My heart is sad that I didn't get to see him one last time. I will greatly miss him. God bless you Dr. Ernie for being you<3 Thank you for the memories. My thoughts, love and prayers to the Agresti Family and Sierra Rose staff.

I have lived in the area since 1990 and it took me quite awhile and several doctors to finally find Dr. Ernie. He was recommended by my wife's OB-GYN some 14 years ago. Ernie's passion for his patients and his ability to see the person, not just the patient, was truly one of his greatest strengths. I will miss my personal conversations with him.

In 1996, I was a young woman who had never established herself with a physician. After a serious illness, that I received terrible care for, in desperation, I closed my eyes and let my finger land in the yellow pages, (remember those?). The name I landed on was Dr. Ernest Agresti. I called his office and they told me to come in immediately. Dr. Ernie realized that something was really off and that I had too many infections. I was hunched over and bruised internally from coughing so hard. Before our visit was over, he adjusted me, gave me a strong antibiotic and a B-12 shot and sent me home to rest. When the lab results came in, he called me personally to tell me that I had about the worst case of mono he had ever seen and that had I gone untreated much longer, that my immune system could have been irreparably damaged. The next 3 months he nursed me back to health and I was so thankful that my finger landed on his name. The past 20 years I have been blessed to have him be, not only my physician, but my families physician. I will never forget the care, love and attention that he always gave me. We shared the same politics, faith and even birthdays! I saw him shortly before his passing and he hugged me goodbye as he always had done, telling me he'd see me next week. My heart broke when I received the news of his passing. I wish I had expressed more often how much I appreciated him and that I had never ever, experienced such wonderful care, that he had given me, by most doctors. I know that ALL his patients felt this way. I am going to miss Dr. Ernie and our talks, but I am so very glad that I had the honor of knowing him. He is what EVERY physician should aspire to be. It gives me great comfort to know that Dr. Ernie is with our Lord and Savior and at peace. I am sure going to miss him!

I am overcome with tears and sorrow at Dr. Ernie's sudden passing. I have been his patient for 23 years. I felt a bit of pride when other doctors would ask who my PCP was and they would know him by name. We shared life events both happy and sad. We aged together like friends do. I am grateful and blessed for his patience, extensive medical knowledge and his faith to God. His caring nature and support with emotional and family struggles all came from his heart. He had a way of making you feel you were not just a chart or file when he would pop his head in the examination room and say, "I'll be right with you." or on rare occasions when he would call to check on your progress. I remembered to wish him a happy birthday every year trying in my own way to make him feel as special as he made his patients feel. I will miss him dearly and what I have become so accustomed to; always a hug, his laughter and smile, and hearing "If you need anything, or it gets worse, call me." My prayers are with Michele, daughters, sisters, family and staff. Sometimes the body simply demands to rest. The angels have a very special and peaceful place in heaven for Dr. Ernie to do just that. I will miss him.

Dr Ernie, our friend, our brother in Christ. Our hearts are broken and we deeply love you and will miss you. The 24 years we've been together we will cherish and hold those memories close to our hearts. This world has lost one of the most generous, kind men and heaven is now rejoicing. We will meet again. Love and prayers to Dr Tina, Dr Linda, Michelle, Christina and Gabriella This is very hard to write, this happened way too early and fast. Dr Ernest Agresti was a humble man of faith that dearly loved his family. A gifted physician that saved lives, healed patients and touched many hearts with his compassion. He had a wide range of interests from politics to sports but his passion is faith and family. His big smile and laugh is how we will remember him by and he will be truly missed. Out hearts and prayers go out to his family and all that had the honor of knowing him. (That is a perfect picture and obituary of Dr E). Love and God Bless, Proverbs 3:5-6

Dr. Ernie was my husbands primary physician. When my husband passed away unexpectedly, Dr. Ernie called me to offer his condolences and to find out what happened. My husband thought the world of Dr. Ernie and looked forward to his visits with him knowing that he was in the best of care with Dr. Ernie.
Dr. Linda is my primary doctor and many times when I saw Dr. Ernie around the office he was always smiling.
He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew. I wish the best for his family.

Ernie will be so missed! He was more then a Dr. to my husband and son, he was a friend and considered in my heart family. I had the opportunity to run in to him all around town as well as sneak back and say hi to him often. He always found a moment for a hug, wise words, laughs and great advice on life. He held so much compassion in his heart and truly cared for his patients and extended family deeply. I will forever remember him in my heart <3 Doc. Ernie we all loved you and you will be so missed. Love hugs and prayers to Linda, Tina and the rest of his family as well, so so very sorry for this huge loss. <3

To all of Dr. Ernie's family and staff. At this time, words are so hard come by to express our shock and grief at his sudden passing. Dr. Ernie helped me through so many serious medical conditions-with care, compassion and devotion. Perhaps his care can best be summed up with his signature parting line at the end of every appointment, "... and call me sooner if it doesn't get better." Those were the last words I heard from Dr. Ernie, and I'll remember them always...

Dr. Ernie I miss you! You were compassionate; a devoted healthcare provider and advocate; and a very patient listener! You thought of the patient first, and did not let pressures from others dictate your thorough, open-minded diagnosis; and desire to help manage perplexing symptoms. I am glad that we now have one more Republican in heaven! Save me a spot!

Dr. Ernie was more than just my Doctor. He was a friend, and almost a father figure to me. I definitely thought of him as family. He selflessly offered me advice on raising my daughter, medical advice on my daughter and other family members, my career, my finances, general life advice, and we especially loved to have animated and very lively conversations about religion and politics. (I'm sure he is happy about the big win!) I was a patient of Dr. Ernie's for about 12 years. He always spoke of his wife, daughters, sisters, and extended family with the most love! He was truly one of the most cheerful, uplifting, caring, and warm people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. To say that he went above and beyond is an understatement! I am absolutely heartbroken that he is gone, but so thankful I gave him a big hug the last time that I saw him! Sending love and prayers and my heartfelt condolences to all who loved him. We all have a wonderful angel watching over us now!
Love, Mary-Ann

I have been a patient of Dr. Linda's for about 20 years, but I had the opportunity to see Dr. Ernie with my husband this spring and summer. Not only did I respect him as a physician, I clearly saw that he was an exemplary man. I had a deep urge to hug him. He was warm and inviting and clearly cut out for the path he chose. I remember thinking about how lucky his wife and daughters were (he spoke so tenderly about them). I hope they find some solace in the fact that they were loved so deeply by a man with such a tender heart and a pure soul. This world might have lost a light for now, but his goodness will shine on forever in heaven. I am so very sorry for your loss Michele, Gabriella, Christina, Dr. Tina, and Dr. Linda. You are in our prayers.

Dr Ernie, what joy he brought to my life for the past 11 years. We had a special bond we laughed all the time. Never have I seen anyone with a bigger heart. He would give a stranger his last dollar. His patients loved him , his staff loved him and never have I seen such incredible love in one family. Watching how they take care of each other is something every family should have. I will miss him everyday his laugh was contagious. I feel so lucky to have had this inspirational man in my life. I love you big man!! Deona
