Ernest Jones, Jr. Jr.

Ernest C. Jones, Jr., 53 transitioned this life on Tuesday July 29, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1971, in Waycross, GA. He was the son of Ernest C. Jones, Sr. & Sandra Wells Jones. He attended schools in the Waycross Public School System and was an outstanding football and basketball player. He graduated in 1989 from Waycross High School. After graduating from high school, he attended Fort Valley State University. He also honorably served in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of Tulsa Welding School, where he received certifications in welding and pipefitting. He was a member of Light of the World Ministries.

He was preceded in death by grandparents: Mable Turner, L.C. Street, Joseph Wells and Cora Wells; aunt, Doretha Turner; three uncles: William Wells, Clarence Wells and Bobby Wells.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Laurine Porter Jones; loving parents: Ernest C. Jones, Sr. and Sandra Wells Jones; loving children: Aquasha C. Jones, Ernest C. Jones, III, Ernest C. Jones, IV (Tyra), Kasai D. Jones and Elan C. Jones; six grandchildren: A'Jalah Fields, Jah'Vioun Fields, Jhah'yiel Fields, E'yree Jones, Ernest C. Jones, V. and Ensley Jones; five sisters: Meniece Parker, Akisha Leonard, Shawana Mitchell Taylor (Andrew), Shumeka Jones and Collette James; brother: Vrittian Stroman; three uncles: James Wells, Joseph Wells and Norman Turner; two aunts: Aquadene Turner and Jackie Johnson; four nieces: Brittany Loftin, Kimaya Killens, Andrewanna Taylor and Kenya Kirby; five nephews: Erick Leonard (Jasmine), Chad Killens, Jr., Andrew Taylor, Jr., Kaywan Leonard and Keyshon Leonard; mother-n-law, Sheryl Porter; two sisters-in-law: Anita Jones and Jennifer Porter Speights (Greg); brother-in-law, Duke Porter (Regina); godparents: Kathy Mitchell, Johnny Lee Porter, Sr. and Cora Lee Porter, Louis Scriven, Billy Melton and Lawanda Melton; godbrothers: Johnny Lee Porter, Jr., Mesiah Porter, Sr., Deon Porter, Montreal Baldwin, Henry Golden and Joseph Evers; godsisters: LuSheba Scriven and Tamela Porter Washington; special friends/brothers: Demarco Gibson, Sr., Rodney Merritt, Sr., and Jamie Moore; devoted neighbors: Michael Davenport, Sr. and Rachel Davenport and a host of other relatives and friends.
