Mr. Ernest Fuller Limbo, age 86, of Shelbyville died peacefully on May 3, 2025 less than 24 hours before his 87th birthday.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, May 12, 2025 at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Abe Zimmerman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 AM Monday until the service time at the funeral home.
He was born on May 4, 1938 to Bertie Lou Pierce Limbo and Maurice Henry (Son) Limbo, both of the Mount Herman Community. He was a long- time member of First United Methodist Church. He was the fourth of four children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Linda Gale Limbo in 2020; sisters Sarah Limbo Coop, and Edwina Limbo Steelman; a brother, Fred Limbo.
He is he is survived by his two sons and their wives, Ernest Maurice (Ernie and Kimberly) of Huntsville, Alabama; and William Eric (Eric and Sonja) of Erin Tennessee, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Anne Elizabeth Limbo of Leuven Belgium, Henry Leonard Limbo of Huntsville, and Caden Eric Limbo of Erin Tennessee. For 36 years, he and his wife owned and operated Limbo's Paint and Wallpaper.
Ernest served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a doting father and grandfather. He was a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School. The family extends its deep appreciation to Hospice of North Alabama and to Ms. Valarie Powell who took care of him during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of North Alabama.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
