Ernest Dale “Ernie” passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2024, at the age of 47. Born on February 18, 1977, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ernest lived his entire life in the community he loved. He was known not just as a hard worker in the construction industry, where he made his mark as a dedicated floor installer, but also as a man of passion, laughter, and devotion to his family. Ernest found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially his cherished moments spent fishing—time that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with those he loved. He had a kind heart and an infectious spirit, always available with a helping hand or a story to share.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Jeannie, his children; Evan and Marisa, stepchildren; Cain and Daynia Estave, his mother; Jackie and her husband Paul, his father; Lannis and his wife, Jane, brothers; Randy, Mike, Lannis, Jr., Jason, Ronnie, Lucas, Chris, David, Robert, Brandon, Justin, sisters; Crystal and Amanda along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
In honoring Ernest's life, family and friends will gather for a public viewing at Johnson Funeral Home on December 23, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Following this time of remembrance, Ernest will be laid to rest through cremation, bringing peace to both him and those who will forever hold him in their hearts.
