Ernestine Elliff, age 92, passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 22, 1933, to the late Jessie Troy Farris and Jimmie Lee Trammel Farris.
At the age of 22, Ernestine gave her life to the Lord, and her faith became the foundation of everything she did. A devoted member of First Baptist Church Tupelo, she served faithfully through Sunday school, mission work, and numerous trips across Mississippi, sharing the love of Christ wherever she went. She was also a faithful member of the Mary Agnes Cook Sunday School Class, where she formed lasting friendships and encouraged others in their walk with Jesus.
Ernestine cherished her church family and the fellowship she found through traveling, serving, and worshiping alongside them. She enjoyed reading, following MSU basketball, and spending time with her dear friends and loved ones. Her greatest legacy is the example she leaves behind: a life lived with unwavering faith, kindness, and dedication to serving others.
She is survived by her children, Jo Ann McBride and husband, Harry, and Jimmy Wayne Elliff; four grandchildren, Lori Tucker and husband, Gregg, Kim Campbell, Amy Michael and husband, Sam, and Jessica Jones and husband, Derek; eleven great-grandchildren, Devin Mitchell and husband, Drew, Maddie Thompson and husband, Mason, Lexie Powell and husband, Bonner, Jack Riley Hamm, Easton Michael and wife, Hallie, Meg Michael, Georgia Kate Michael, Madison Jones, Caleb Jones, Canon Jones, and Cohen Jones; four great-great grandchildren; and a special friend, Julia Bethay.
