Ernesto Cruz San Miguel

Ernesto Cruz San Miguel, 78, of Harlingen, Texas, entered eternal rest on November 10, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1947, in La Feria, Texas, to Jesus San Miguel and Rafaela Cruz.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Herlinda San Miguel; his brothers, Jesus San Miguel and Jose Luis San Miguel; and his sister, Josefina Gonzalez.
Ernesto was one of the biggest Elvis fans you could ever come across. Much like Elvis, he "gambled on life," always ready for a good time and never shy about showing off his dance moves. He cherished spending time with his brothers and his son, enjoying their company and the joy they shared together.
Always thinking of his family he was known for giving small tokens of treats to show his love-little gestures that spoke volumes of his love and thoughtfulness. Ernesto created moments that may have seemed small at the time but will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving children, Blanca Cuellar (Ricardo), Gloria Rodriguez (Haroldo), Ernesto San Miguel (Salina), Beatriz San Miguel, Jessica Aleman (Juan), and Linda Anaya (Sebastian); 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Sergio San Miguel (Janie); and his sisters, Rafaela Oropesa (Ruben), Gloria Vega (Juan), and Gracie Gonzalez (Raul).
Visitation will begin Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, departing the Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery.
