Ernest "Ernie" Leo Batliner III passed away on October 8, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ernie was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Leo Batliner II, his mother, Carel Batliner, his sister, Sherry Batliner, and his sister-in-law, Barbie Batliner.
He is survived by his daughter, Kasey Batliner; his step-son, Robert Boston Jr.; and his brothers, Timothy Batliner and Kevin Batliner.
Ernie built a long career with Ford Motor Company in Louisville, Kentucky, where he worked until his retirement.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Ernie rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Louisville Cardinals or watch the excitement of NASCAR racing, with a special loyalty to Jeff Gordon. These passions brought him joy and connection throughout his life.
Music was also close to Ernie's heart. He especially enjoyed playing his guitar, and the songs he knew were always played with joy and pride.
He valued friendship and built many meaningful connections along the way. Those who knew Ernie remember his love of sports, his music, and the energy he carried with him.
Memorial visitation is 2-6pm Friday, October 17, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky. The family invites everyone whose life was touched by Ernie to gather in remembrance and celebrate the moments they shared with him.
