Bonnie Batliner Obituary

Bonnie Rae Batliner, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at Silvercrest Senior Living. She was born on August 31, 1937, in Sellersburg, Indiana, to Harry and Elizabeth Bean. Bonnie cherished her family above all, dedicating her life to nurturing and supporting those she loved.

She is survived by her devoted son, Marvin Batliner; daughter, Theresa (Bret) Taylor; son, Steven (Rhonda) Batliner; and daughter, Marcia (Don) Bowman. Bonnie was a proud grandmother to Stephanie (Kevin), Branson, Crystal, Travis, Amber (Nathan), Justin (Destiny), Whitney (Shane), Jessica (Patrick), Joshua (Brooke), and Jenna (Brandon). She also leaves behind her 13 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Bonnie was a steadfast sister, cherished by Betty McGinnis Shirley Sparrow, Harry Bean, Carolyn Story, and Darlene (Jerry) Lawyer; and brother in law, Larry Davis. Her bond with her family was a source strength and warmth throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard "Butch" Batliner, Jr.; her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Bean; sister Minnie Davis; sister, Marilyn Standford; and brother, Edward Bean.

In her leisure, Bonnie found solace and happiness in crafts and relished spending quality time with her family. She was a committed member of her community and a devoted churchgoer, always seeking to lend a helping hand wherever possible.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation services, which will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN, on September 3, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on September 4, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Mass in celebration of Bonnie’s life will follow on September 4, 2024, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, IN, beginning at 10:30 AM.

Bonnie Rae Batliner will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering love for her family, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. Her spirit will continue to live on in the memories of her family and friends.
