Ervin Frazier III, affectionately known as "Brotherman" was born on July 26, 1956, to both the late Ervin Frazier, Jr. and Geraldine Burks in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He attended Knoxville Junior High in Beltzhoover and graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA in 1974. Immediately after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and then joined the Marine Corps in 1976.
After returning home, Brotherman was employed at ABEX Inc. in Canonsburg, PA as a laborer. He then moved to Florida in the mid-eighties and was employed as a sanitation worker and at night, he worked security at an after-hours club. He moved back to Pittsburgh in the early nineties and was employed as a security Guard at Monroeville Mall, later at Shuman Center and then retired from UPS as a Package Handler.
Brotherman occasionally attended New Grace Missionary Baptist Church with his mother which made her heart extremely glad.
Brotherman was well known and would always make jokes that had everyone laughing and on the edge of their seats. In any situation, whether light or serious, with family or friends, his magnetic personality would capture you as he was always the "Life of the Party". Brotherman loved family gatherings and enjoyed playing pool, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and movies and driving nice cars.
He met Nicole Kirby, and they were married on August 28, 2006. From this union they had Angel, who currently attends City Charter High School in Downtown, Pittsburgh.
Brotherman was preceded in death by his father; Ervin Frazier, Jr., stepfather and mother; Moses and Geraldine Burks, sisters; Rosa Lee, "Pee Wee" and Darnella Burks and Glenise Bryant.
Brotherman passed peacefully in his home on Tuesday, December 24th. He will be missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew him. He leaves his cherished memories to his wife; Nicole "Nikki", brothers; Moses Jr. (Karen), James (Sharon), Robert, Scott (Malaika) and Darnell Burks, sisters; Sherell and Shenile Burks, children; Andre Harvey, Ervin Frazier IV, Arnita (Ramona) Clark, Lisa, Omar, Fameisha, Lavonia and Tanya Grant, George Brown, Eric Seahorne, Christian Norfleet and Angel Frazier; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
