It was often said that the whole nation celebrated his birthday. He worked offshore most of his working life, making lifelong friends. He was a very proud Navy Veteran.
He is predeceased by his son, David Russell Pilgreen, brothers Vince Pilgreen, Robert Pilgreen, and sisters Mary Pilgreen Durham and
Alma Pilgreen Hayes, his parents Mary Tidwell Pilgreen and Alva Pilgreen, and cherished in-laws Cecil and Billie Rogers.
Left to remember and miss him are his wife of 48 years, Helene Rogers Pilgreen; daughter Terri Pilgreen Rogers; son Allan Daniel Pilgreen;
granddaughters, Ashley Green, Hallie Rogers, and Kathryn Rogers; great-granddaughter, Alexis Green. Also cherishing his memory is his childhood best friend forever, Bill Bragg, and his special pup companion, Prissy.
He could not stand by while he felt something or someone was hungry or without. He never hesitated to intervene on their behalf.
He was a very special, wonderful husband and father, friend, and advocate to all.
According to his request, there will be no funeral service. Remember him as he was.
