Ervin Postlethwait Jr., 86 of Old Mill Road, Jane Lew passed away at 9:00 pm on Sunday October 20, 2013 in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born July 25, 1927 in Jacksonburg, Wetzel Co. a son of the late Ervin and Rebbeca Schrader Postlethwait. He was twice married first to Audra Leona Murray who preceded him in death on June 2, 1989, then, on November 20, 1992 he married the former Martha Garton who survives. Also surviving are four children: Gary Postlethwait and wife Sharon of Keiths Fork, Raymond Postlethwait and wife Mary Ann of Jane Lew, Donald and Gerald Postlethwait both of Jane Lew; step children: Roberta Gellner and husband Bill of St. Mary's, Kathy Beale of Weston, Elizabeth Griffith and husband Mike of Jane Lew and Steven Sines and wife Melinda of Buckhannon; four grandchildren: Denise Oldham, Kelly Shole, Ryan Postlethwait and Cynthia Grant; several step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; one sister: Edith Taylor of West Milford. He was preceded in death by one brother Harold Postlethwait and one sister Thelma Roy. Mr. Postlethwait was retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Co. with 38 years of service. He was Methodist by faith and attended the Victory Assembly of God Church in Weston. Ervin enjoyed hunting, fishing and flower and vegetable gardening. Friends may call at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday from the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew.
