Yadkinville – Ervin “Wiggy” Michael “Mike” Wilson, 68, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 9, 2025. He was born November 11, 1956 in Iredell County. He was the beloved son of Lillian Maynard Wilson and the late Frank William Wilson. Michael was a thoughtful, loving son, the best big brother, and devoted husband, father, uncle, and Paw Paw. Michael shared his father’s love of baseball. He began as a bat boy on the teams his father coached and then played all the way through school and as a young adult on church and community teams. He was a graduate of Forbush High School. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling on family vacations, participating in Cub and Boy Scouts and outings with family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and horseback riding. As a child he loved riding and caring for his pony CC and horse Charlie. He continued his love of horses throughout his life. He began fishing at an early age going to ponds with his father. He then shared the love of fishing and hunting with his sons and grandson. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by a sister, Valerie Wilson; aunts, Marlene Stewart, Barbara Ann Galloway, Naomi Allen, Ruby (John) Maynard; uncles, Russell Wilson, Robert (Lacie) Maynard; and brother-in-law, Chip Seaver. Surviving is his wife, Jennifer Pickett Wilson; children, William (Kacie) Wilson, Dalton (Abbie) Wilson; grandson, Cohen Michael Wilson; mother, Lillian Maynard Wilson; sisters, Kyra Seaver, Renee (Mark) Haislip; nephew, Dillan Seaver; niece, Kaitlyn Seaver; great-nephews, Dallas Seaver, Major Seaver; and several extended family members. His funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 14, 2025 at Huntsville Baptist Church by the Rev. Dennis Shaw. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for all the love and care shown to Mike. Memorials can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 516 Hawthorne Drive, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
