Esperanza Mendez

Esperanza "Espy" Mendez, 86, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023 at Comforts Of Home in Hudson Wiscsonsin. Espy was born in Mexico to Natalia and Alberto Berrones on May 4, 1937. She met Jose Mendez while visiting her sister in Wisconsin and fell in love. They moved to Milwaukee where they raised four children. Espy loved to cook for her family and friends and was well known for her fresh homemade tortillas. She would walk miles to have a cup of coffee with friends. She was a very hard worker and was always a valued employee wherever she worked. She will be missed by her children, Sandra (Michael) Annen, James Mendez and Arthur (Nina) Mendez. Grandchildren Art Mendez, Joe Mendez, Gabrielle Zamparripa, Alberto Mendez, Natalia Mendez, Melissa (Luke) Demos, Jonathon Annen, Emily Annen, Madison Annen, Maria Annen, Julia Annen and Anthony Annen, Many Great-grandchildren and great friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose Mendez, daughter Grace Zamarripa and grandson Christopher Lauster. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday, October 6th from 2-4pm at the Witkowiak Funeral Home with Prayer Service at 3:30pm. Witkowiak Funeral Home 529 W.
