Esteban "Steve" Castorena answered his call to heaven on May 24, 2025. He was a Bowie High School alumni and veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served proudly as a United States Marine. Steve lived a life defined by compassion and service. Always the first to lend a hand and the last to seek recognition, he had a quiet strength and a servant's heart. His life was a testimony to the power of love in action, and his kindness touched countless lives. He is survived by his three children, Estrella Connell, Samuel Castorena, and Marisela Caraballo, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Pablo and Samuel and son Daniel Castorena.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 12, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 225 W. Griggs Ave in Las Cruces, NM. Friends may attend the visitation service at 8:30 AM on Thursday, June 12, at Perches -Graham's Funeral Home, 555 W Amador Ave in Las Cruces, NM.
