Raquel G. Castorena, age 66, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas.
No services are planned at this time. A private visitation for family will be held at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Raquel was born on May 20, 1959 in San Benito, Texas to Edelmiro Gutierrez and Consuelo (Romero) Gutierrez. She worked for Ludlum Measurements for many years before retiring.
She is survived by three daughters; Sandra Rivera of Grand Prairie, Texas, Sonya Garcia of Abilene, Texas, and Sophia Garcia of Sweetwater, Texas; one son; Raul Castorena of Harlingen, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and sister, Noemi Russell of Sweetwater, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edelmiro and Consuelo Gutierrez; brother, David Gutierrez, sister, Hilda Alvarado and grandson, Cameron Garcia.
