Sheila Rhea Burnett

Sheila Rhea Burnett, age 83, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene, Texas.

Her wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Burnett Barn at 1301 Elm Street, Sweetwater with Mike Ensminger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Sheila was born on March 10, 1942 in Sweetwater, Texas, to Curtis Raymond and Dorothy (Busby) Barnett. She married Dale Burnett on August 20, 1960, in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a member of Normandy Avenue Church of Christ. She worked as a secretary for various businesses most of her life. She worked for Nolan County Welfare office in the Food Pantry department.

She is survived by her son, Brook Burnett of Sweetwater, Texas; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Burnett of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Shea Burnett, Kirsten Blair Burnett, Jaxon Burnett, and Jagger Burnett; sister, DaLane Morgan and husband Robert, sister-in-law, Debbie Trulock and husband Johnny, and nephews, Blake Burnett and Curt Crisp.
