Ester Jean Rogers, age 97, of Abilene, passed away on December 12, 2025, in Abilene, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm on January 3rd, 2026, officiated by Jean’s longtime Pastor Cliff Stewart, at the Gazing Globe Section of Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Jean was born on January 16th, 1928, in Fort Worth, Texas to Carrie Lou Murphy Pribble and Oscar Hartwell Pribble. She was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Paschal high school and received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics at Texas Christian University in 1949. She married Carroll Ray Rogers in 1951 and settled in Abilene. She was actively involved throughout her life in the Women’s Luncheon Club, Investment Club, Carousel Club, Slipper Club, Abilene Country Club, Westwood Club, and Abilene Petroleum Club. In later years, she organized a Women’s Dinner Club with her close friends. She loved a good party!
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Ray Rogers, parents Carrie Lou and Oscar, siblings Maurice Pribble, Elizabeth Marshall, and Mary Lou Dillingham, and her great granddaughter, Eloise Elizabeth Peck.
Jean is survived by her children Carolyn and David Martin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Rob and Beth Rogers of Dallas, Texas, her grandchildren and great grandchildren Missy and Tim Peck, Holden Peck of Dallas; Becca and Chandler Quisenberry, Dottie and James Quisenberry of Fort Worth, Texas.
Memorials may be given to The Living for Lulu foundation, which honors Jean’s precious granddaughter Eloise “Lulu” Peck, who died in the catastrophic flood in the hill country on July 4th, 2025. (www.livingforlulu.com)
