Esther P. Jackson passed away on January 6, 2025 in Grace Manor Nursing Home in Burlington, Colorado. She was born in Walsh, Colorado on February 6, 1932. Esther had many jobs in her life and marriage. Homemaker, caregiver to many, cleaned houses for a contractor in Pueblo and also ran a motel in Trinidad, Colorado. Esther was born into the family of Clarance and Pauline Fowler. The oldest child of three, Esther, Ruby and Donnie. This was where her caregiving began.
Esther attended Kim High School in Kim, Colorado and graduated in 1950. It was during this year that she met the love of her life, John Jackson at a dance. His pickup line to her was “Has anyone told you that you are good looking?” Esther replied, “Why no!” John then said “What makes you think you are?” and he walked away. They were married on May 26, 1950 in Raton, New Mexico. To this union 2 sons were born: Ron Jackson in 1951 and Rick Jackson in 1952.
There were many people that were special to Esther, a few being her grandchildren; Heather Williams, Travis Jackson, Becky Eicher, Karalee Algien, Mike Jackson, Troy Adolf, Lori Stannard and a special niece, Kaye Taullie; some special kids, Glen, Chellee, Cindy and Randy.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John W. Jackson, her mother, Pauline E. Fowler; father, Clarance, D. Fowler; sister, Ruby Poulos; brother, Don Fowler; nephew, Randy Croft and her son Ron K. Jackson.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025 in the Davis Memorial Chapel in Pueblo, Colorado. Interment will follow where Esther will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Masonic Cemetery in Trinidad, Colorado.
