Esther H. P. Lee, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on March 2, 2026, at the age of 80.

Esther's story began in Hong Kong, where she was born on July 8, 1945, and raised as one of seven children in a close-knit, loving family. In 1964, she moved to Boston to marry her beloved husband, the late Henderson Paul Lee, where they joyfully raised their three children. Esther endured the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Paul, in 1982, and her son, Norman, in 2015. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Tina Lee and Rita Lee Liebel; her caring son-in-law, Brian Liebel; and her husband of 16 years, Daniel Howard.

Esther earned an associate’s degree from Massasoit Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College, becoming a registered nurse. She dedicated 30 years of her professional life to serving the Chinatown community at South Cove Community Health Center in Boston, where she worked as a program director. Esther found her calling in public health, using her skills and compassion to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

After retiring, Esther moved to the warm, beautiful city of Sarasota, Florida, where she enjoyed friendships, travel, and a variety of activities that reflected her vibrant personality. Her heart often drew her back to Boston and Toronto to visit friends and family. Her love of travel reflected her adventurous spirit and her eagerness to explore new places and cultures.

Esther's hobbies reflected her lively and curious nature. She loved gardening, visiting museums, playing mahjong and cards, walking, and trying new foods from every cuisine imaginable. She remained active and joyful—whether bowling, playing pickleball, or even hula dancing.

Her children and grand dogs brought her tremendous joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. In her later years, Esther enjoyed visits to nearby botanical gardens and the beach, as well as occasional trips to the casino, where she played the slot machines, treated herself at the spa, and enjoyed the diverse dining options.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4–8 PM at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James the Greater Church in Boston on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.

Esther will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, curiosity about the world, and deep love for her family and friends.
