Ethel Haller

Ethel Haller, who passed away on July 4th, was a very special lady. She worked for LAUSD for over 25 years as a special education teacher and was always passionate about finding ways to connect with people. She was a loyal friend and a wonderful listener known for her soothing voice and optimistic attitude. She enjoyed throwing dinner parties because she was so happy to gather people together and show her care for them.

She gave her time to help others, including volunteering at the California Heritage Museum, The Braille Institute for many years, as well as her condominium board.

She was a proud and caring grandmother. She was a giver and a talented artist who was always willing to learn new things, including taking up knitting and gifting her lovely projects to friends and family. One of the things she enjoyed was her knitting group, "The Knit Wits", at the Culver City Senior Center. When she could no longer knit, she donated all her knitting supplies to the group.

Her belief was that she will live on in people's memories, and she will.

Her wishes to have her ashes scattered at sea through the Neptune Society were respected. Her remains were released off the Newport Beach, California Coastline on August 7th, 2025.

A special gathering of friends and family will take place at the Culver City Senior Center (4095 Overland Ave), to honor her memory, at 9:00AM-11:00AM, on September 20th, 2025.

She is survived by her two sons David and Matthew and her daughters-in-law Susan and Laurie and three grandchildren.
