Ethel Marie Reed - Cox Obituary

Ethel lived a full and generous life, always guided by faith, family, and kindness. After graduating from L & M High School in 1952, she pursued her passion for beauty and creativity by attending beauty school. For more than twenty years, she welcomed countless friends and neighbors into her home salon, Klip and Kurl. Later, Ethel brought that same care and attention to detail to her work at H & R Block, helping others during tax season.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton, where her faith was a steady presence in her life. Ethel loved to crochet and sew. She also found joy in traveling, sharing adventures and making memories with family and friends. Above all, Ethel's greatest joy was being surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Ethel is survived by her four sons, Ted (Debbie) Reed, Tom (Rhonda) Reed, Charles (Tammy) Reed, and David (Becky) Reed; a son-in-law, Monty Harp; two step-children, John (Karen) Cox and Victoria "Sue" (Mike) Pflueger; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Horace "Leon" Reed; her second husband, John R. Cox; her beloved daughter, Nancy Harp; sisters, Virginia Krost, Bonnie Sullivan, and Marjorie Brookshire; and brothers, John, Richard, Ralph, and Lee Malone.
Funeral service celebrating Ethel's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton of Walton Funeral Service, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ethel's honor may be made to the Lyons Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Ethel was one of the most loving caring and generous people ,especially if she heard of someone in need, she loved the Lord and she was a good prayer warrior.
I don´t say I lost my friend.she´s not lost she inHeaven in Gods care now,
I will be seeing her when I get there.
My prayers are for her family as they grieve.
