Ethel Joyce Seelig

Ethel Joyce Seelig, 91, of Thorndale passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Hearthstone Nursing and Rehab in Round Rock. The funeral service is set for 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Thorndale. Burial will follow in Thorndale City Cemetery. A visitation will start at 9:00 am on Wednesday and go until service time at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Scroggins, Felix Hinostrosa, Clayton Schneider, Glen Schneider, Clifford Menzel, and Allen Hejl. Honorary pallbearers are Leonard Seelig, Donald Seelig, Anthony Niemtscke, and Richard Schneider.
Ethel was born on August 9, 1933 to Bill Dockall and Anniemae Lamb in Milam County. On July 7, 1952, she married Lawrence O. Seelig in Taylor. She was a caring and loving wife and mother. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4009. She was the Director of the Chamber of Commerce for 6 years. She helped out at Town and Country Arts and Crafts, as well as the Thorndale Senior Citizen's Center. She was very active in the community and enjoyed helping others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Ethel is survived by her daughters, Brenda Brooks and husband Keith of Goldthwaite, and Beverly Hiatt of Thorndale; grandchildren, James Hiatt, II of Thorndale, and Garrett Brooks and wife Selena of Dallas; as well as many extended family and friends.
