Ethelda "Minnie" Davis

Ethelda (Minnie) Preston Davis age 67, departed this life Monday, March 2, 2026. She was born May 3, 1958, in Bedford County to the late Bertha Mae Cunningham Preston and Garland Arelius Preston. In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Preston Goode and brother, William Davis Preston.

She was educated in the Bedford County School System and was a 1976 graduate of Staunton River High School. She went on to work as a teacher's assistant, a job she loved and took great pride in. She enjoyed interior design and tending her beautiful plants. Minnie was well known throughout the community for her delicious baked goods and will be remembered fondly for her beautiful smile.

Minnie's favorite verse: I asked Jesus" how much do you love me?" "This much," He answered, and he stretched out his arms and died.

Left to celebrate her memories are her devoted husband, Johnnie; husband of 45 years; and her siblings, Darlene Yarborough, Raymond Preston, Priscilla "Pixie" Ray (Warren), Tazewell "Taze" Preston, Delores "Lorie" Harris (Joe), Derwin Preston (Sabrina), Ronald "Big Boy" Preston (Karen), Donald "Little Bit" Preston (Debbie); aunt, Emma Brown; uncles, John Newbill (Ellen) and Winfred Newbill; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
