Tom Curtis Cunningham Jr.

With hearts full of love and gratitude for the time we shared, we celebrate the life of Mr. Tom Curtis Cunningham, Jr., who went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 16, 2025.

Tom was born on June 18, 1959, to the late Minerva L. Cunningham and Tom C. Cunningham, Sr. in a family rooted in faith, love, and strength. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James E. Cunningham, and his lifelong best friend Lee Calloway.

Tom's early journey began at Body Camp Elementary School, continuing through Staunton River High School, where his determination and curiosity began to shine. A man of many talents, Tom was gifted with a creative soul-he loved drawing, singing, lifting weights, playing the guitar, and finding peace in the rhythm of music.

Known as an exceptional mechanic and a man who could fix just about anything, Tom's hands were steady and skilled, but his heart was even stronger. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend-a man whose loyalty ran deep and whose love had no limits. There was truly nothing he wouldn't do for those he cared for.

He leaves behind a legacy of love through his wife, April Cunningham; his children, James, Valicia, Tony, Dante (Shaina), D'Angelo (Shanta), and Jasper; his grandchildren, Za'Hari, Kayson, Jayceon, Shaine, Dante Jr., Leasiah, Braelyn, Jasmine, Sophia, and Raquel; his brother, John Cunningham; his sister, Betty Bonds; his nephews, Michael, Allen, and AJ; his nieces, Victoria, Samantha, and Daminika. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Tom lived his life with a quiet strength, a generous heart, and an unshakable love for those around him. His laughter, wisdom, and presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Though his work here is done, the imprint he left behind will live on through every life he touched.
