Etta Jean Forrest, cherished member of her community and beloved matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Burleson, Texas. Born on August 19, 1933, in Delaware County, Oklahoma, Jean lived a life full of purpose, dedication, and love.
Jean attended Jay High School and entered the workforce, finding fulfillment in her career in retail sales at Dillard's Department Store. Her commitment to her profession mirrored the dedication she displayed in all aspects of her life, earning her respect and admiration from colleagues and customers alike.
Jean was not only devoted to her career, but she also engaged deeply in her community through her service with the First Baptist Church of Burleson, Texas. Her contributions to the fundraising committee showcased her selfless spirit and unwavering desire to uplift those around her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Rhonda Pugh and her husband David of Arlington, Texas; Sharon Nobles and her husband Dean of Round Rock, Texas; and Cathy Bays and her husband Danny of Burleson, Texas. Etta’s legacy continues with her grandchildren, Jina Hopp, Dianna Macklin, Amanda Wood, Jessica Pugh, Ned Nobles, Clint Nobles, Mary Beth Keith, and Joshua Bays.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Wilson and Mamie Gregory, as well as her brothers Wayne Wilson and Gerald Wilson. The absence of these beloved family members leaves a profound mark on those who remain.
A graveside service to honor Jean Forrest will be held on September 19, 2025, at West Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport, Texas. The service is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM, allowing family and friends to reflect on her remarkable life and share in the memories that will forever bind them together.
Jean Forrest's spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
