Etta Marie Anderson Falin Obituary

She was born in Hawkins County to the late Orbin and Cleva Anderson. She was a devoted member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and guided many during their walk with Christ. Etta was a wonderful cook and was always eager to feed and welcome people into her home. She was an avid reader especially her bible and enjoyed gardening. Etta was known for her skills as a seamstress and made clothes for many. Etta was a loving grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Falin; son, Eugene Falin; daughter, Ruth Falin; one infant son; loving sister, Bessie Shipley; three brothers; along with many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her granddaughters, Connie Eidson and husband Wayne, Pam Pittam and husband Gary, and Karen Fischer and husband David; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Surgoinsville with Pastor Kyle Falin officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nova Health and Rehab for their loving care over the past several years. They would also like to thank her extended family especially Bob and Jerri Darter, Jack Falin, Michael Falin, Donna Marshall, and Brenda Watterson.

Marie was such a wonderful lady! Loved to quilt & very independent. She surely will be missed by so many. I enjoyed going to see her, while Mike mowed her yard. She would always enlighten me with stories of the past. Sending love to the family & prayers! Kim Falin

Mamaw was the strongest woman that I will ever know. She remained strong and steadfast in her faith in Christ throughout the years and even in the most trialing times. She opened her heart and home to me and my sisters before and after the loss of our mother. My grandparents farmed until they couldn´t and life with them was simple. I loved her with all my heart. I know that she is in a better place rejoicing with many. I sincerely thank the care givers, friends and extended family for their many years of support.
